I've been curious about the infamous breakfast cookie ever since I first saw them on Gina's blog. I knew the recipe called for protein powder (which I've never used), so when I saw these little packets at the store, I snatched 'em right up.
LOOK at those biceps. mmmmm.
It smells SO good. Like cocoa powder!
My cookie contained 1/2 the ($2!) packet of sexy powder, 1/2 smashed ripe naner, 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1/3 cup oats, a splash of skim milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
The outcome....
The verdict? This was SO GOOD! I almost felt guilty eating it for breakfast. ;-) I am fo' SHO' making this again.
Do you use protein powder? What's your fave? They are pretty $$$, but I have to admit they are so convenient and dayumn this stuff tastes good.
Today I am thankful for:
- New recipes
- Wi-Fi
- 80's music

You are too cute! Haha! ;)
I still haven't tried a breakfast cookie, why is that??!
I love TJ's almond butter. So, so good and you're right, the price is great!!
I really like Jay Robb protein powder. I have the vanilla one. The only other that I've tried is Designer Whey which isn't as good, imo.
I have the same almond butter but with sea salt. Love me some salt. I really like it. I put it on toasted Ezekiel bread and it gives it a nice flavor. I grew up in the 80s so I've got tons of that music on my ipod.
Jay Robb Whey is good, but since I'm trying to go more veggie- I use Jay Robb Egg White Protein. It is TOTALLY delicious! He is the man.
For the spaghetti squash, there is actually a squash called spaghetti squash. You can usually find it right near the acorn squash :) When you scrape it with a fork (after cooking) it makes little spaghetti like strands. Its the GREATEST! You must try it
DANNNNG chica. shoulder muscles much? Hahah..sorry, i notice the wierdest things.mmm i didnt know they sold jay robb at stores--thats exciting. however - a fair warning, do not try the brown rice. doesnt smell very good, and doesnt taste very good either!
hah hah! That's awesome. This is one of the funniest posts you've made yet. :)
Haha, that pic is cute!
I really like Kashi's Go Lean protein powder. It doesn't taste too powdery and the vanilla flavor is good in smoothies!
I noticed your awesome shoulder muscles too! Go girl! Lovely breakfast cookie! I just bought Chocolate Peanut Butter protein powder but can't remember which brand!
wow your breakfast cookie looks fabulous!! I still need to try one.
I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein. It's about $30 from GNC and has about 30 servings. I don't use it every single day, so it lasts me awhile. The Deluxe Milk Chocolate is my favorite flavor so far. I use it mainly in smoothies, I didn't think to add it to a breakfast cookie! I haven't made one of those in awhile...perhaps tomorrow...
Funny- I'm writing about protein powder in tomorrow's post!
Breakfast cookie is tttaaasssttyyy.

I've got to try one of those! They look so good! And like you, I eat the same thing every day. I could use some variety!
