In an effort to cut down on my diet coke intake (I used to drink two 32. oz fountain drinks and one 12 oz. can), I've started drinking more unsweet iced tea. I have Splenda packets that I bought awhile back, so I've been using those. I know Splenda was marketed to be "safe" since it came from sugar, but I know now that it is not as "safe" as we all thought (um....chlorine?! I like to swim in it but don't want it in my belly!). I found this website that lists all of the artificial sweeteners and their pros/cons. So what is your sweetener of choice? Aspartame? Sucralose? Stevia? Acesulfame K? Or a little real sugar?
As per the usual, I am a little wishy washy on this subject....but I have a sweet tooth and I need SOME form of sweetness in my food and drinks. :-)

Real sugarrrrr! I use to be a splenda lover but I am trying to stay away!
Real sugar! I tried artificial sweeteners a couple times ages ago, but they just taste- well- artificial. And I just really am all about eating REAL food as opposed to strange amalgamations of chemicals:)
uuugggghhh i hate posts like this because it reminds me how much artificial sweeteners I use. i put splenda in all million cups of coffee i have a day and drink diet coke constantly. It dont believe its BAD for me, but it certainly isnt good for me, so I should cut back.

I was a splenda lady, but last month I just stopped. I started using sun crystals which is made from cane sugar. It's much less sweet, but you get used to it.
I also use more honey now and sometimes go sweetenerless. I know it seems impossible, but you can do it.
Stevia, to me, is just gross, but I know people who love it.
ah! I'm so glad you liked the soup :)
None of the above. I am a big fan of agave nectar! It goes in everything now! :)
Thank you all SO much for your input! I always enjoy hearing what other people think and what they're doing and why. I don't always trust "research." :-)
splenda.
sweet sweet I KNOW I SHOULDNT splenda.
REAL SUGAR!! I shun that fake stuff like the plague.
