Vacation Time!

Thank you so much for your happy thoughts/prayers coming my way. It’s kind of reassuring knowing that so many of you have had the same procedure – I’m hoping that the doctor is just being precautious. In funny news, I had a dream about my doctor last night – I have a total crush on him. Kind of weird to have a crush on a guy who gets paid to probe your vajayjay, but you would, too! Go here to see him – yes, that IS him (Dr. Mernitz). He lost 55 pounds on the Bow Flex! LOL. My friend goes to him, too, and randomly found that one day. How funny is that?!

Also, thank you SO MUCH for all of your wonderful breakfast ideas!! I made a list of breakfast foods to try the week I get back from vacation. Now, this will definitely take some extra time in the morning on my part – but it’s worth a shot. I’ll post my breakfasts and let ya know what holds this gal over.

So….vacation time!!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Not necessarily for the vacation (though it will be a blast) – just time away from work! I’m only taken one vacation day this year and I just feel burnt out.

Tomorrow morning our family is headed to Boyne Falls, Michigan until Thursday.

Like the pic? I don’t want to see any of that white stuff for awhile.

I do get a little nervous about vacations because of my workouts and eating – and this will be a little more challenging since I can’t run. Usually I run almost every day on vacation. It’s a great way to see new things and places! This trip I’m planning on taking lots of walks, hitting the weight room a few times (that is supposed to be available, hopefully with some equipment at least from the 90’s), and some “rulking.”

I USUALLY do pretty well on my eats as far as vacations go. There are 11 of us total, 4 under the age of 5. So it’s pretty hard for us to find a restaurant that can put up with my noisy famaccommodate all of us. We make our own meals with the exception of maybe one or two meals out. I’m also bringing some of my own goods:

Plus we’re hitting up the grocery the day we get into town, so I’ll stock up may-juhly on some fruits and veggies.

Oh, and I plan to bring this along for the ride, too:

Thanks, Fitz, for the recommendation! This thing HURTS like a mo-fo, or maybe I’m just weak. But the foam roller hurt a lot in the beginning, too, and now it really doesn’t. I’m hoping the Stick is the same.

We have almost eight hours in the car tomorrow...hopefully I'll get some reading done at least (and watch a few DVD's...um, hello, Wentworth Miller AND Robert Pattison?!).

Do you get nervous when you travel because of workouts and eating? How do you plan ahead?

Hopefully we’ll have Wi-Fi there and can post at least once this week. If not, you’ll hear from me Thursday night. Have a great weekend, friends!

Today I am thankful for:

- Cool weather for mowing
- Clean bed sheets that smell amazing
- The Swiffer (gosh I love this thing)

Wow - your doctor is hot!! That's crazy; you don't see too many good looking doctors.. only on Grey's Anatomy. I think you should do some flirting with him :)

Yep, I do eat to punish myself sometimes. Crazy as it sounds I guess I'm not alone. And, yes, I stress about eating when on vacation. Even for camping trips this summer I get an anxious feeling because I know I'll be indulging. But I have to realize I won't gain 10 pounds in one weekend. And not even 5. So keep that in mind.

I have the "stick" too! It does hurt... esp. on my IT band... but it helps! :)

Thank you so very much for your encouraging comment you left on my post. You have no idea how much your words mean to me. Just knowing someone out there understands and is rooting for me powerful and is the push I need to keep going. Have fun on vacation!! I'm leaving on Monday for St. Thomas with my family! Anyway, relax and enjoy!!!!! :)

P.S. Just said a prayer for you that your procedure goes well. I'll keep thinking about you and praying for the best!!

Have fun on your vacation!!
Looks like you have a great plan for workouts/eating.
Myself-I usually don't worry about eating. It's a vacation--some yummy food is fine. As for workouts I usually tell who ever I'm with that I have to do them--so I know that they know, so I have to do them to save face. LOL. Plus taking a jog is a good way to see a place in the quiet morning and have a moment to yourself.

have an amazing time! I worry a lot about vacations and the food situation...the last few years, my trips have been to NY where I consider 'home' so it's not been a huge deal and I know what to expect. My mom wants to go to Paris for a long weekend and I am kind of nervous about that...but really, in a few days/a week, it's hard to actually do much that would undo any fitness/health progress you have made, so just relax and have fun :)

Yes, I get nervous when I go on vacation. We just got back from Jason's parents in small town, South Carolina. For a few days before the trip, I worried about what I was going to eat. It ended up being fine though as it always does.

Have a great vacation!! I get nervous depending on who I am with. If I am with my mom, I know I will eat healthy because she works out more than I do! If I am with my boyfriend or friends, I get nervous because they will want pizza and than I am the odd one out who wants a salad! Bringing your own food always helps!

I totally took Twilight with me last weekend! A little RP makes any flight go faster!

Love the stick!

Sounds like so much fun! Just relax, enjoy yourself, and keep a level head when it comes to exercise/food. That's what I do and it usually works out really well by the end of the trip :)

I always freak out about vacay and always mess up. I get my exercise in, but eat too much. I am working on it though! I like how you have it all planned out! Have a great time!
