Breakfast Take 2 and New Snack

So obviously my heart belongs to oatmeal. But I've never tried overnight oats. And with this hot weather, what better time than now?

I found this recipe for Strawberry Banana Almond Oats on Kath's blog. I only made a few changes - 1/3 c. skim cow's milk, 1/3 c. Chobani vanilla yogurt, and no granola/cereal.

This was pretty good! I think I would definitely add in some almond butter (surprise surprise!) next time, or maybe some cereal on top for some crunch. But I love how all of the flavors mix together. Strawberry + banana = one of my favorite combos. (Remember the strawberry banana Hubba Bubba gum?!! I used to tear that UP!) AND it actually - wait for it - kept me pretty full. My tummy didn't rumble until around 11, which is definitely progress.

I also found this new snackie at the grocery store and took it for a whirl.

I used to LOVE the Breakstone Cottage Cheese Doubles, but they have 15 grams of sugar and it always left my mouth wanting something more sweet.

I love sun dried tomato anything. Plus, this baby had 15 grams of protein, and only 6 grams of sugar.

The verdict? WOW! I loved it. I'm so used to eating something sweet with cottage cheese, this was a nice change. I'm definitely stocking up on this next time (ugh, if they're on sale like last time).

Today I also had my follow-up appointment with my hot, Bow-flexing doctor. He was so incredibly sweet, he sat down and talked to me before he started. He said, "Don't worry. You aren't going to get cancer, you're going to be able to have tons of kids, and you'll be just fine." I just love that man.

I had a colposcopy and he ended up doing a biopsy as well. He said the questionable area was very small, so small that he might have even gotten it all when he did the biopsy. And the biopsy wasn't even that painful - after the nurse told me it felt like getting your ears pierced (ummm, in your vajayjay?!), I was scared of course. But it wasn't bad at all. In any event, I should know the results in 7-10 days!

Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Tuesday.

Glad the doctor thinks things look good.

That cottage cheese looks interesting. I've seen it in the store, but have always been a little scared.

Awww, your doc sounds nice (and really hot)! Glad he was able to help ease your worries. You are still in my prayers.

I totally agree about the strawberry+banana combo... so good! I'm glad to hear you were likin the overnight oats... I'm thinking once I start school back up next week I might start doing those or breakfast cookies to have something quick to grab each morning. Perhaps a strawberry/banana breakfast cookie!

Sounds like you have a great doctor! Hopefully everything will turn out ok and I'm sure it will.

And thanks for the advice about my 'situation.' And I agree, I think he should come here first. So, we'll see.

And that's reassuring to hear it took your sis a year. So there's still time for my sis!
