Almond Breeze...Makes Me Feel Fine

I tried it!

In the mix --> the normal nanner + kale + ice + flax, plus some strawberries....

The verdict?

Very tasty! I have had a recent obsessioncraving for almonds lately, so of course I fell in love. Don't know if I would drink it alone, but it was perfect in my green monster!

Have you tried any alternative milks? Soy? Almond? Rice Dream?

On a side note, thank you so much to all of you for your comments on my last post. Nobody likes to feel alone in the things they think, so it was comforting that many of you feel the same. I have more to say on this topic, for sure. I think for now, I need to focus on what is right for me - not compare myself to others, because my needs are not the same as theirs.

Today I am thankful for:

- Vacation in 5 days!
- The Bachelorette (what will I DO when it's over?!)
- Being close to the restroom at work ;-)

I'm sad Reid left. I'm wondering though if he's coming back in the final episode to tell her how she really feels. Such a great season! It is the firt time I've ever watched though :)

I LOVE almond milk- rice milk is good too. The only down-side for me is the low protein count, and the only almond milk I can get here isn't fortified with calcium so I don't buy it. I want to try hemp milk though :)

I've had Almond Breeze before and I liked it. Like you, I loooove almonds. Have you tried Emerald's Cocoa Roasted Almonds? The chocolate doesn't change the nutritional content of the nuts at all, and it adds a yummy sweetness!

I hope things are getting better for you in terms with the behaviors. If you need to chat, vent, anything at all- feel free to drop an email or comment! Some days I get aggravated looking at all those food blogs and then a little upset with myself that that kind of stuff still effects me sometimes.

yum i love me some almond milk! its been pretty expensive though, so recently i bought a 12 pack of cartons of organic vanilla soy milk from costco, for 12.99 just a little more than a dollar a carton vs 2.50 for the almond milk. i wish it was less expensive, because its my favvv

I have never ever like regular milk. Then I tried soy. Hated it too. Almond? Not a fan. I think I'm just destined to never like any kind of milk. Hopefully by taking a mulivitamin and eating cheese and yogurt and veggies I'm getting enough calcium.

I just read the post before this one and I have to say I too can get caught up in what everyone else is doing. I used to think it was ok to splurge on a piece of birthday cake, but now seeing how so many people say they were at a party but turned it down b/c it had sugar/wasn't raw or whatever makes me think maybe I'm "bad" for eating it. But then I jump back from that and realize that I only live once and if I go through life turning down birthday cake, what's the fun in that?!

You are not alone in the binging and restricting. I have been there too, but it is possible to make peace with food and move past that. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get there soon! :)

I adore almond milk! I like it more than soy. The only problem--it is definitely more expensive!

I've tried almond and soy milk. I used to use almond milk in my cereal because it was only 40 calories but then I decided I liked skim milk so much better. I need to try it in my green smoothies though!

I might have to try almond milk. Sounds good. I try to stay away from soy products for the most part. A lot of men have reported hormonal problems associated with drinking too much soy based products..

That said, you should try my favorite post workout drink:

-1 cup milk
-1/2 cup Acai berry juice (from trader joes)
-1/2 lemon/ginger juice (trader joes as well)
-1/2 cup blueberries
-1 scoop whey protein powder
-handful of ice
-1 banana

Blend and enjoy!

AND, Reid and Wes are both no-shows for next weeks tell all. I think you're right about Reid coming back. You should check out people.com - I guess Wes is getting a lot of flak and rightfully so :)

Ok, really I'm not stalking you or anything but you mentioned what you're going to do when the bachelorette is over - Big Brother!! It's on 3 times a week. Man... I need a life. You can tell I'm single :)

Thanks for the review! I just tried Almond Dream yesterday and it was pretty good!

I have tried almond milk, soy milk and hemp milk and some other random kind that I can't remember, oat milk maybe? I like the soy and almond. I like regular cow's milk the best, I think.

I love silk vanilla soymilk.
It was more protein than the almond so it keeps me fuller longer :)

hooray for your vaca coming up!! I tried the almond milk...and...ick. I didn' try it mixed in a smoothie, I only tried it alone and in my coffee. I was disappointed- just tasted like slightly flavored water? Maybe its best as a mix in?
