Crap Free Week - Day 1

So I've officially been crap free for 24+ hours! That sounds so weird/funny to say.

Let's just say I had too much crap on Saturday, I think partially because I was scared of being away from some of my favorite things for a week. Anyhow, I woke up yesterday morning rarin' to go. I even avoided caffeine all day! It actually felt SO good to just drink water all day. I had a little nagging headache last night and actually was in bed by 10 p.m. - without any melatonin (which is unheard of for me). But I woke up feeling very refreshed this morning!

Yesterday for lunch I made myself a little turkey burger with some crumbled feta cheese and garlic powder. YUM! I will definitely be making this again.

I also made Meghann's Acorn Squash Lasagna - YUM!! This was SO good. I will be having this for leftovers allll week. :-)

And I FINALLY tried these little guys:

.....and they were everything I thought and more! I know it's "spreadable" but I just ate it by itself. Real classy.
I guess I should say that some of the ingredients in my food this week would probably be considered "processed," but I'm trying to go with as many clean, fresh ingredients as possible. For me, it's more about cutting out the frozen Lean Cuisines and veggie burgers and eating more wholesome, home-cooked meals. :-)
Still no caffeine yet today! I might have some herbal (caffeine free) tea this afternoon, but I'm really going to try to stick with just water.
Hope you have a great Monday! At least it's almost halfway over.

Good for you girl! No caffine...I'm not sure I could do it :) Keep up the amazing work- you're already through 1 whole day!

Sounds good so far! I don't know how you avoided caffeine all day, I end up getting headaches if I don't have my daily dose!

Your food looks great! Especially the acorn squash lasagna, I looove it.

I'm thinkin' your CFW is going to inspire me to try it on my own..I could use a "cleanse," haha.

Wow, you're doing great! The no caffeine thing is challenge enough! Everytime I give it up, I sleep so much better. Why I start drinking coffee again...I'll never know because I can obviously live without it. I think I just like it to be part of my morning routine, and I love the smell of freshly brewed pot! Keep up the good work.

Erica - thanks! No headache today - phew. :-)

Kristen - it has been tough. I had a 24 hour headache...although it was dull, it was annoying. I wanted to take just ONE sip of diet coke! I would definitely recommend CFW - I love how good I feel. I just hope I can keep it up!

Heather - I reallllly want to cut down on caffeine after this, but I know myself bettah. ;-) I could never cut it out of my life! I do agree, though...I've been sleeping much better this week. I'm anxious to see if that continues...

Sagan - thank you! It was supah dupah easy. Just combined ground turkey with some garlic salt, salt & pepper and crumbled feta cheese. Then just shaped 'em into patties and threw them in a skillet! I couldn't believe how easy. I LOVE feta cheese - so they were right up my alley. :-)

Kelly - me, too...I think that is a HARD habit to break. For me, at least, because I've been like that my whole life. BUT I'm hoping practice makes perfect.

Aleesa - it was SO yummy! The picture doesn't do it justice, but man. I'm having one for din din tonight. :-)

I keep reading about different bloggers doing the "crap free challenge," and I'm intrigued. I may have to give it a try. I do eat a pretty healthy diet, but I know there is more "crap" in there than I realize.

Good for you! It sounds like it is going quite well so far!
